Description
Mini Cooper Mk3 S. Registered in November 1970. Built as a stage rally car in 2000 following total restoration using a sound later shell. It has its original Cooper S re-built engine with large valve stage 3 head. The engine has been lined and bored to 1293cc. Fully balanced with Omega forged pistons. A Special Tuning road / rally camshaft. All new parts including a Paul Ivey EN40b forged crankshaft. The gearbox is a rod change Jack Knight straight cut with close ratio gears fitted with a Quaffe LSD and MED 4.066 crown wheel and pinion. The car has Hardy Spicer driveshafts and competition clutch. Fully rebuilt engine-100 miles only
The interior has a Safety Devices full cage with 4 point harness belts and a lifeline fire extinguisher system,a works type dashboard with branz recorder and brand new in period Corbeau seats.
Although built for Stage Rallying, it has recently competed in Hill Climbs, Historic Rallies and demonstration events with Rallying History. It is an ideal HRCR Clubmans Rally Championship car.
It has a current FIA Historic Regularity Car Pass and a British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate.
