Part built Mk2 Escort Group 4 for sale.
An extremely rare opportunity has arisen to acquire this immaculate part finished project.
The shell has undergone a very extensive bare metal restoration. All the correct group 4 modifications have been carried out including 5 links, turrets, period spec safety devices cage, aluminium arches and tubs, top mount plates and gussets, seam welded throughout. Gearbox tunnel, bulkhead strengthening. All work has been finished to the highest standard. The shell has been beautifully finished in the correct Ford Diamond White with Satin black interior. We have an extensive library of photos covering all aspects of this work.
The 2.0 BDG Brian Hart engine has been completely stripped down and rebuilt including new crank, pistons, rings, shells and gaskets. Dry sump system to include an original GOMM oil tank. A full engine specification and photos of the build is available on request.
The gearbox is an original ZF direct top dog leg 5 speed gearbox with brass forks. The gearbox is believed to come from an original works escort KHK of Andy Dawson.
The fully floating atlas axle with forest ap 2577 calipers has been completely rebuilt and is as new with a 4.6:1 ratio making it ideal for road use as well as Rally.
Brand new AP 2361 forest calipers and discs. Bilstein front legs with correct large platforms, brand new Gartrac World Cup crossmember and correct engine mounts. Brand new quick ratio steering rack. Brand new Olympic Blue genuine minilites wheels with correct historic spec DMACK forest tyres.
Lots of brand new and also original parts. Thousands has already been spent and as such would make a fantastic assembly job. These opportunities do not come around often.
The car comes with an original Chelmsford (where the Boreham cars were registered) reg number making it extremely close to that of a famous works car that won the RAC in 1977. (See first picture)
I would not consider breaking this car. Viewing highly recommended. Please don’t hestitate to mail or call with any questions you may have.
We would also consider finishing this car to someone’s desired requirements. Ideal car for Goodwood festival of speed , RAC Rally, etc.
Too much to list.
Part Ex considered.
Serious enquiries only please.
Lots more photos by request.
