GpA SUBARU IMPREZA
This car was built new in 2024 by Autosportif Engineering from a perfect donor turbo GC8 – to a LHD specification as close to an original Pro-drive GrpA Impreza as it is possible to get ! It is in mint condition having had very little use, presented in the iconic Windfield livery and suitable cherished registration, with current FIA HTP.
Bodyshell – all fabrication works carried out by Steve Lancaster as original Prodrive; seam welded where necessary, strengthened where allowed in the homologation, cage to 1996 specification.
Engine – new build using a closed deck block, Nicasil liners, steel conrods, heat treated crank, competition bearings, valves, DH22 cams, Group A sump and baffles, Grp A water transfer rail, Grp A alternator, VF 34 turbo in original Grp A position with 34 mm restrictor, Grp A flywheel and clutch, Grp A intercooler.
Gear Box – new build 6 speed fully active front and centre diff, 96 spec hydrolics (as per original Hewland unit, all parts interchangeable). This is an exact copy.
Rear Differential – new build spool type, just like the gear box, this is an exact replica of the original Hewland unit, and as such all parts are interchangeable with the original.
Crossmembers – front modified to Grp A spec, rear is tubular narrow track Grp A (as original).
Suspension – 2 way Reiger tarmac dampers fitted, Stable Fabrication hubs (steel flanges and wheel studs), tcas, trailing links, lateral links, tarmac titanium antiroll bars.
Drive shafts – new build Grp A.
Braking System – AP 6 pot water cooled front calipers with 366 mm discs, AP 4 pot rear calipers with 304 mm discs, original spec Grp A water cooled brake radiator and modern pump. Stable Fabrication Grp A pedal box (to original spec) with AP brake cylinders.
Steering – Stable Fabrication Grp A steering column (to original spec) with left hand drive rack and Grp A track rods ends.
Electrical package – new looms throughout to original specification but modified slightly to accept modern electronics; ECU master engine and GEMs transmission controllers fitted (both mapped by Johnathan Carey). Heavy duty starter.
Fuel system – Premier fuel bladder, with correct Grp A pump box and filler neck.
Cooling System – Original spec water/PAS header tank, SVX style Grp A radiator with correct SPAL fans and mounts, blue silicon hoses as original.
Exhaust – 3 ” straight through skidded, to original Grp A spec with correct mounts.
Intake system – carbon cold airbox and air intake trumpet as original.
Interior – Ricaro seats, dash and door cards flocked, manual windows, Lifeline fire extinguisher system, Grp A carbon dash binnacle, centre panel and co-driver dash as per original, Grp A heater system with carbon motor mount/modified matrix/vent arrangement, helmet holder, heated front screen, Grp A carbon handbrake.
Currently fitted with a new set of Speedline 18″ tarmac wheels, comes with correct spec bonnet and bumper lamp pods.
For anyone wanting to compete in the 2027 FIA European Historic Tarmac Championship, this is the perfect car – built by people with more experience than anyone else to an exacting standard which has to be seen to be appreciated.
