The car is effectively ‘new’ and built in 2022-24 with a great deal of effort into getting the details and quality right. The cost of the building is estimated over €120,000 and preparation was finished in 2023/24 by known and also the most precious Volvo rallyspecialist/team in Finland.

The car is built according to the FIA-regulations for Group A and has a valid Historic technical passport until 31.12.2033 for racing, hillclimb and rally.

CHASSIS

Original Volvo 242 chassis, built in detail due Volvo Sports and FIA HT A-5020 standards. Bodywork is professionally cleaned, water/sand blasted, restored, strengthened and painted both inside and out.

Volvo sports Turbo charged 2.127cc

Cast iron engine (red) block, 8 valves, 4 cylinders in line with alloy heads

Rallyfans around the world love the flames coming out of the side-exit exhaust pipe! The fully prepared engine produces 260-280bhp (and could easily be pushed to 310bhp), making the car very fast and reliable. The 500 Nm torque makes the engine one of the most powerful GrpA power plants. The engine is built according to the latest specification. Bosch Motorsport K-Jetronic, controlled via the latest ECU-system with Volvo GrpA intercooler.

There is 2 exhaust systems for this car, side-exit for tarmac/racing and rear exit for gravel/rallies. Both handmade due Volvo GrpA Specifications.

The exterior of this car is first professionally finished white paintjob and then wrapped with racing grey. White colour was applied on every single panel of the car and the execution of the paintjob was done to a very high standard. The engine compartment, luggage area, underside and interior are all finished in the same colour and give the car a very clean and sterile presence.
